While we value all of our patients and take their conditions very seriously, there are occassions when we see cases that are really unusual. With permission we will share some of these cases with you. Check back periodically to view some of our most interesting cases.
This is Bella. She is a four year old female Jaguar. She was born at Panther Ridge Sanctuary and Conservation Center. Rejected by her mother from birth, she was bottle fed by the sanctuary and closely monitored by Dr Johnston. As she grew, it became apparent that she had problems with her tooth enamel. It is critical for large carnivores to have good teeth to maintain normal digestive health. This is Bella having a dental cleaning and bonding of some of her weaker teeth. You can read more about Bella and the other sanctuary cats by following our link on the “useful links” page.
This is a before and after photo of a dog that had bladder stones. She is a very happy girl now that she had surgery and removed those painful stones.
This boy had his hip dislocated. If you look closely in the x-ray you can see that the left side of the hip is different from the right side. The left side is the problem because the bone is not in the socket.
